Everything was beautiful and I hope to dine again one day. We worked with Joy on our reservation and had Ally as our server.
It is a ton of food and it's $115 a person so it's a special occasion restaurant and hard to get reservations so make sure you're checking a month beforehand on OpenTable when reservations open up and snag your seat. My favorite part of the meal was the potatoes severed with the pork. When we sat down there was a Brussel sprout tree on the table that ended up being one of our sides. The fresh vegetables were what shocked me. Family Meal is an experience dinner that doesn't give you a choice for what you're getting! It's all locally sourced from their upstate farm and brought into the city day of. Have been waiting forever to dine here and it was worth the wait.
Overall, a solid experience and I would recommend. They do have another location next to their actual farm which I would love to visit. Venue is relatively small, but that’s mostly true for many restaurants in nyc. Service throughout the meal was top notch. We concluded with some deserts which was rather lackluster but it did fill that portion of the stomach reserved for deserts. The one protein dish, which was pork, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, accompanied by beans that were to die for. The stars came shortly after which were the mushroom donut and potatoes. The waiter said he gave a “chunky” pour, which is a funny way to describe a pour so I had a good laugh, but indeed it was not chunky whatsoever…Įnough with the wine talk, let’s talk about the courses. I started off with a glass of their Syrah, which was indeed good. Prefix menu, everyone share the plates in the middle. I didn’t think I would enjoy eating so many vegetables, but yet - here we are, me eating and enjoying.īlue Hill is currently serving up Family Meal. However the food was delectable our waiter was amazing and very friendly, we had a lot of fun and it was great to see all the Christmas decorations, great wine selection, great cocktail selection, exemplary service and absolutely a delight to be sitting there. We kept wanting more bread, but the bread service didn’t come back again they kept going to the floor of the restaurant.
People sitting on the floor of the restaurant but so faster people who came after us got served first. The service was a little slow to start because we were sitting just across from the bar, we were pretty hungry and it seemed as though there wasn’t enough weeks to stop. What was great is that they had hot Apple cider for wedding guests which was perfect because it was a cold New York morning. It was a long line if you didn’t have a reservation. That was a good decision because we got him straight away and was shown to a table. I had decided to make a reservation on mine instead of just turning up. We visited the Loeb Boat House in December just after Christmas.
